Mobile Capture plug-in

With the help of this plug-in, signatures can be captured via a smartphone or tablet with Apple iOS or Android.

Requirements

The following requirements must be met:

  1. The Mobile Capture plug-in must be installed on the computer. This is available as a feature in the customized installation of signoSign/2.

  2. An extended license for the Mobile Capture plug-in must be activated on the computer.

  3. The signoCapture app must be installed on the smartphone or tablet.

  4. The computer and the mobile device must be in the same network or, ideally, directly connected to each other, e.g. via a hotspot.

Installing the app

The “signoCapture” app must be installed on the mobile device. The app is available in the Google Play Store or the App Store.

Plug-in configuration

The Mobile Capture plug-in must be configured as a signature device.

After installation, the plug-in appears as a selection option in the signature device settings and can be defined as a signature device in the same way as configuring a signature pad.

Signing with the plug-in

To capture a signature with the mobile device, the app must be started on the device. A “pairing code” is displayed in the app, which is required for the connection between the mobile app and signoSign/2. A new pairing code can be generated using the button next to it.

The signing process is then started on the PC. A list is displayed of the available devices with model name that were found in the network and that have opened the app.

To start a signing process, select the desired device from the list. The “pairing code” displayed in the app must then be entered to pair the computer and the mobile device. Pairing only needs to be carried out once, so that no new pairing is required for further signing processes with the same end device.

After successful pairing, the app displays the confirmation text, or the signature dialog directly, to capture the signatures, depending on the configuration.

The plug-in is designed so that the two devices are directly connected to each other, e.g. via a hotspot or an ad hoc network. If both devices are only connected to the same WLAN, this can result in the devices not being found or connection problems occurring. Network configurations can also mean that devices cannot be found. The plug-in has no influence on this.
