Stamps and seals
Stamps and seals
Stamps and seals can be configured in this area. The configured stamps and seals can be inserted into an open document via the toolbar.
All configured stamps and seals are displayed in the list. The list contains the configured name, the type (stamp or seal) and the availability (global or user-specific).
The three stamps “approved,” “rejected” and “confidential” are available in the standard system. These can be changed or deleted. The corresponding images are installed by the setup under “%PROGRAMDATA%\signotec\signoSign2\Stamps.”
In addition to the list, the following functions are available from top to bottom:
Create new stamp
Edit selected stamp
Delete selected stamp
Move the selected stamp up in the sort order
Move the selected stamp down in the sort order
Preview
After selecting a configured stamp, the corresponding stamp is displayed under the list in the “preview” area.
Stamp settings
When creating or editing a stamp or seal, a new dialog window opens in which all settings for the stamp can be edited.
The following settings are available:
General
Options | Description |
---|---|
Name | Configures the name of the stamp or seal. This name is displayed in the list and in the toolbar. |
Width / height in cm | Configures the height and width of the stamp in centimeters (cm). The maximum size is 15 x 15 centimeters. |
Save on user-specific basis | Defines whether the configured stamp should be saved user-specifically. Activated: Saves the stamp in the user-specific settings. The stamp is therefore only available to the current user. Deactivated: The stamp is saved in the global settings and is available to all users of the software. Default: Deactivated |
Seal
This area is used to configure whether the stamp should be inserted as a seal and which certificate should be used for the digital signature.
Insert as seal | Configures whether the stamp should be inserted as a “seal.” This setting means that the stamp is not only inserted into the document as an image, but also as a digital signature, which protects the document (similar to a signature) against tampering. Watermarks are inserted when seals are used in demo mode. |
Use global certificate settings | Configures whether the seal is inserted in accordance with the global certificate settings made in the “signatures” area. Activated: The global settings are used. Deactivated: Individual settings can be stored for the certificates of the seal. |
Mode | Configures the mode for executing the digital signature. Always PC: The signature is executed in the PC or in the software. The certificate configured in the software is used. Signature device if possible: If possible, the signature is executed via the internal signature creation device of the signotec signature pad used and thus in a secure, standalone environment. The certificate from the signature pad is used. If the signature device used does not support this, the signature is executed in the PC. The certificate configured in the software is used. Always signature device: The signature is always calculated via the internal signature creation device of the signotec signature pad used and thus in a secure, standalone environment. The certificate from the signature pad is used. If the signature device used does not support this, signature capture is not possible. The signotec signature pads contain a signature certificate generated in the pad before delivery, which is also used as standard to utilize all of the pad’s security functions. The certificate can be exchanged. The “always signature device” mode only works with the signotec signature pads with integrated RSA unit. If you also want to use other input devices, such as a pen display or Windows tablet PC, this setting must not be used! The following signature pads have an integrated RSA unit and support the signature in the pad:
Default: Signature device if possible |
Certificate file | Configures the certificate file that is used in “always PC” or “signature device if possible” mode if the connected signotec signature pad does not have a signature creation device or no signotec signature pad is used. A self-signed certificate can also be created within the software using the “+” icon next to the file selection. To receive the “green checkmark” in Adobe Acrobat Reader, you need a certificate whose ROOT is part of the global trust lists “AATL” or “EUTL.” Such certificates are generally subject to a charge. For further information, please contact the signotec sales team. |
Include only the end certificate in the X.509 certificate chain information | Configures whether only the end certificate of the complete certificate chain should be included in the signature. Activated: Only the end certificate is used. Deactivated: The complete certificate chain (if available) is included in the document. Default: Deactivated |
Image
This area is used to configure whether the stamp should contain an image.
Use image | Configures whether the stamp should contain an image. |
Image file | Configures the image to be used for the stamp. Using the button with the three dots next to the text field for the path, you can select the corresponding image for the stamp from the computer via a file selection dialog. Alternatively, you can edit the path manually. The image formats .bmp, .jpg, .gif and .png are supported. Please note that the selected image file on the computer must not be moved afterward, otherwise it will no longer be possible to use the stamp. |
Text and preview
This area is used to configure whether the stamp should contain a text. A preview of the stamp is also available.
Use text | Configures whether the stamp should contain a text element. Activated: A text element is added to the stamp. After activation, this element is visible in the preview. The text element can be moved freely within the configured stamp size. The content can be typed in manually. Alternatively, various placeholders, e.g. the current date, are available via the “+” icon next to the element. Deactivated: The stamp does not contain a text element. Default: Deactivated |
Background | Configures the background color of the text element. Default: Transparent |
Font style | Configures the font, color, size and formatting (bold, italics) as well as the alignment of the text. All installed fonts are available. When using special fonts, it must be ensured that the configured font is installed on all workstations. |
Resolve placeholder (preview) | When activated, the placeholders in the text element are resolved and show the current value (e.g. today’s date). While this option or preview is active, no changes can be made to the configured text. |
