ZIP and SZP files

It is possible to use ZIP (*.zip) or SZP (*.szp) files to open one or more PDF documents with signoSign/2.

When opening these documents, the document types and their complete settings can also be sent, completely independently of the document type recognition within signoSign/2. In this case, a pair consisting of PDF document and XML file of the document type must be contained in the ZIP or SZP file. The names of the two files must be identical, e.g. “Invoice.pdf” and “Invoice.xml,” in order to ensure the assignment between the document and the associated document type. Each ZIP or SZP file can contain several pairs of PDF and XML.

The SZP file can be selected and opened via the “open file...” dialog, the ZIP file cannot. Both files can be opened and edited via drag & drop in the main window, via URL scheme from the web or as transfer parameters to the application (signoSign2.exe).

If the ZIP or SZP file only contains a PDF document without an XML file or if the names of the PDF document and the XML file differ, the PDF document is opened and the automatic document type recognition is carried out using the identification terms in signoSign/2.

The XML file (document type) must contain the structure of an exported document type. This can be exported in the document type settings. If necessary, values that are not required can be removed. All values for the document type not contained in the XML file are ignored by signoSign/2 and fixed default values from signoSign/2 are used instead. No other document type is used as a fallback!

Please note that the setting “delete the source file after the document is archived” in this case deletes the ZIP or SZP file when archiving.
