Operation

Starting the app

When the app is started, it checks whether a license is available. If a license has not yet been activated, the app can be used in demo mode by clicking the “Test...” or “Test (10 days)” button. Watermarks are used while demo mode is active.

The difference between selecting “Test...” and “Test (10 days)” is that the dialog is not displayed for 10 days when “Test (10 days)” is selected.

Click the “License now” button to open licensing so that you can enter a license key.

File selection

By default, the signoSign/mobile app will display the following view.

This is a configurable directory, i.e. the “incoming folder”.

The incoming folder consists of an overview of all available PDF files in the defined directory and a menu bar underneath. To refresh the view, simply swipe the display downwards.

To open a document, tap the desired document.

Document displays

If a document is opened for editing, it will be displayed in the document viewer.

The menu bar changes to a toolbar for editing the document. The available tools are described in the following section.

Tools

The following tools are available for editing the document.

The settings can be used to define which tools are available for editing the document.

Option

Description

Open

Opens a file selection dialog to select another file from the incoming folder. The open document is closed without being saved. Any changes are discarded.

Image

This button is used to insert images in the opened document.

Depending on the setting, the images are selected from the camera or from the gallery and can be freely inserted into an existing page or attached on a new page.

Once the document has been signed, this feature is no longer available.

Notes

This button is used to insert handwritten notes into the document.

The pen color (black, blue, yellow, grey, green, red, orange and violet) and the pen width (thin, normal, thick) can be selected.

The notes are inserted into the document after confirmation. If the creation of the note is canceled, the changes are discarded.

Notes are inserted into the document as transparent graphics. Transparencies are not permitted for PDF/A-1b compliant documents and lead to a loss of compliance. For such documents, an additional confirmation prompt is therefore displayed asking whether the process should be continued or canceled.

Send

This button can be used to process the open document with other apps and send it by e-mail, for example.

When sending e-mails, the subject is “signoSign/mobile” by default and the content is “E-mail was sent by signoSign/mobile”. The content can be changed in the e-mail application. The document is sent as an attachment.

Once the e-mail has been sent, the document is displayed again in the signoSign/mobile app.

Search

This button allows you to search for text in the open document.

The desired search term can be entered in the text field. No distinction is made between upper and lower case.

The current search hit is highlighted in blue and marked with an outline. Other search hits are only marked with a blue outline. The arrow buttons can be used to jump to the previous or next search hit. The search can be ended with the “X” button.

Archive

This button archives the open document according to the settings.

This option is only enabled if the document contains at least one signature and all mandatory fields are signed.

Save

This button allows you to save the changes temporarily.

The document is stored in the set incoming folder in the “save” subfolder and can therefore be called up again from the overview for later editing.

Settings

This button opens the app settings.

Help

This button opens information about the app.

Close

This button is used to exit the app.

Before closing, a confirmation prompt is displayed asking whether you are sure you want to close the document without archiving.
