Licensing

On delivery, signoSign/Universal runs in demo mode and consequently watermarks are added to documents and signatures. A licence is required for productive use.

Licensing for signoSign/Universal is based on the following features:

Licence feature

Description

Host name

The computer name entered in the licence is compared with the result of the Java function InetAddress.getLocalHost().getHostName().

Number of processors

The number of processor cores used entered on the licence may not be lower than the actual number of cores used by the operating server.

Concurrent users of the Viewer

The number of concurrent uses entered on the licence refers exclusively to the documents displayed in the Viewer. Access to data sets or resources of the web service interface is not included in concurrent use of the Viewer.

Reading out the host information

In order for a licence to be created, the necessary information about host names and the number of processors must be provided. These are displayed on the console when you start signoSign/Universal and are also logged.

Please note that, depending on the licensing procedure, consumption data such as the number of signatures or documents also play a role in addition to the technical features.

Deposit license

The licence is transmitted in electronic form (as a character string) and must be made available to the application.

A licence key can be set in the settings.properties file, as a Java system property or as an environment variable.
