Read-only document types

It is possible to use read-only document types.

Read-only document types can be displayed, copied, sorted and used in the software, but cannot be edited, deleted or exported.

The read-only document types are shown in italics in the list of all document types and are deactivated by default (grayed out). To use a read-only document type, the “use document type” option can be activated in the general settings of the document type.

Provide read-only document types

To provide read-only document types, the document type configuration (signoSign_DocTypes.xml) must be exported. The exported file is then renamed to “signoSign2_DocTypes_Locked.xml.”

The renamed file can now be distributed by placing it in the same directory as the normal document types. The directory can be defined in the global settings.

This gives users access to the restricted document types without having to completely lock document type administration with a login.
