Operation with DHCP
From firmware 1.42 (June 2020), the signotec Delta with integrated network connection supports the automatic assignment of an IP address via DHCP. The use of DHCP is activated by default, so if network mode is detected or activated (see also Automatic detection of the connection type or Connecting via network) the device will immediately attempt to call an IP address in the network. The use of DHCP can be enabled or disabled in the service menu at any time.
While the IP address is being called, the device will display the adjacent message on the screen.
The default timeout for calling the IP address is 60 seconds.
If the IP address has been successfully assigned, it will be shown on the display and must be confirmed. The purpose of this is to notify the user of a new IP address if the IP address has changed. The most recently assigned IP address can also be called in the service menu.
If the IP address call fails, you can switch directly to USB mode or to the service menu to set the configuration yourself.
Using the Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) in the underlying network may have a negative effect on the speed of the DHCP configuration. The signature pad has no influence on this.
