Using the local signature workflow, you can open a PDF document directly in signoSign/Universal and sign it yourself—for example, using a connected signature pad or via touchscreen input.
Procedure
1. Select a document
In the Nextcloud file browser, navigate to the PDF document you want to sign.
2. Start the signing process
Open the context menu for the PDF file (right-click or tap the three-dot menu) and select “Sign File” The app will upload the document to signoSign/Universal. This process may take a few seconds, depending on the file size and your network connection.
The app currently supports only PDF files. This feature is not available for other file formats.
3. Sign the document
Once the document is ready, the signoSign/Universal Viewer opens automatically in a new browser tab.
Edit and sign the document in the viewer. If signature fields have been configured (see Configuration – Signature Fields), they will be automatically inserted at the defined positions in the document.
4. Complete the signature
After saving in the viewer, the signed document is automatically uploaded back to Nextcloud. The original is replaced by the signed version.
If comments or tags are specified in the configuration, they are also automatically added to the file.
The signing process is considered complete as soon as you save in the Viewer tab. The document is then uploaded back to Nextcloud asynchronously. You can save a file multiple times.
